We have another spirit week this week. This time the theme is “Salad Dressing Week,” so each day is a different type of salad dressing. For example, today’s was house dressing so we were supposed to wear our class colors. The sophomore color is black, but I didn’t want to just wear all black, so I tried to incorporate the other colors (red, silver and white) through my sparkly tights and bandana.

I got
this shirt from Romwe in the mail this weekend and was so excited to wear it! It reminds me of
this swimsuit from Black Milk, but more a much better price and in shirt form. Also the tiger is a lot less scary!

Daylight savings time is the worst. I’ve been so out of it all day today. This is my dad’s old shirt, which is from Bali, and I paired it with my favorite high waisted shorts. I wanted to wear my hair down because I got it cut on Saturday, but it got kind of gross in the rain. Oh well, today is obviously not my day, I hope yours was better!

I’m just wearing this simple outfit today. The shirt was a Chanukah gift from my grandma, and it is one of my favorites. This tan color is never one I would have picked out on my own. It’s actually surprisingly versatile. Sometimes other people can pick out the best things for you because they have an outside perspective on your wardrobe.

I’m not feeling great today, and I don’t love this outfit, so I wasn’t sure if I was going to post. Driver’s ed is over, which means i have more time, so I thought I might as well. This outfit is sort of autumnal despite that spring is coming soon. It’s still just as cold as it was two months ago here, so spring clothes aren’t really practical yet, but hopefully they will be soon.

I was sent this shirt by the lovely people from
Sugarlips, and I love it! I was so excited when Sugarlips contacted me, because there are so many pretty pieces on their site. The pieces they carry kind of remind me of things you’d find at Anthropologie, but for half the price. The shirt I picked out is called the
It’s Knot What it Seems Top. I loved the pretty crochet detailing, and black is always versatile. The shirt seems to be good quality; I’m not concerned about it snagging or falling apart. Today I paired it with high-waisted shorts and thick tights, and I can also picture wearing it a lot this summer as a cover up or even over a bright tank top.

I love this sweater so much. I wear it pretty much every day when I’m just lounging in my pajamas, and all the time on the weekend with jeans. It had been too long since I had worn it to school and posted it here, so I decided to wear it yesterday. I paired it with one of my favorite skirts, this velvet one from American Apparel, for some color, and socks to make it more interesting.

Today I had a pretty good day because we went on a field trip this morning. I won a contest my favorite teacher had, so she bought me and my friends Starbucks, which was so nice of her. This outfit is super comfortable, but my skirt was really static-ey all morning.

I tried taking my picture in a new spot to see if it would turn out more in focus, but It didn’t really help. Oh well, you get the idea of the outfit anyways. Do you like this location better then my usual fence spot, or does it really not matter?

Hat: H&M
Sweater: My Dad
Leggings: Oasap
Boots: NordstromOasap let me pick out something from their site to review, and I chose these cool leggings. They look like leather, but are actually incredibly stretchy and comfortable. I don’t usually like wearing pants because they are boring and uncomfortable, but these great leggings are neither of those things. You can buy them
here, and be sure to check out all the other great things from
Oasap.

This outfit is from Friday. After school I hung out with some friends and then my parents and I went to this youth poetry slam, which was really cool. I felt a bit spring-ey in this color combination, which was nice on a dreary winter day.

The different textures (sparkly, corduroy, velvet skirt, and knit) are what make this outfit interesting in my opinion. If it were all one fabric, then the outfit would be pretty plain, because of the basic shapes and neutral color scheme. Interesting textures are a great way to add subtle detail to any boring outfit!

I walked into my first period class today, and I found that the girl sitting next to me was wearing a black tee shirt with a silver picture on it, the same red velvet skirt, black tights and black shoes! It was pretty funny. Also, It made me think about how much we wear is really original and how much is coping those around us. Maybe some other person we were both around subconsciously inspired us to wear that outfit! How conscious is the process of being inspired?

Today is a lovely day here in Seattle. It’s currently 61 degrees and sunny! I wish I could be outside to enjoy it, but unfortunately I have drivers ed for two hours tonight, so I don’t have time.
