We have another spirit week this week. This time the theme is “Salad Dressing Week,” so each day is a different type of salad dressing. For example, today’s was house dressing so we were supposed to wear our class colors. The sophomore color is black, but I didn’t want to just wear all black, so I tried to incorporate the other colors (red, silver and white) through my sparkly tights and bandana.

The different textures (sparkly, corduroy, velvet skirt, and knit) are what make this outfit interesting in my opinion. If it were all one fabric, then the outfit would be pretty plain, because of the basic shapes and neutral color scheme. Interesting textures are a great way to add subtle detail to any boring outfit!

On Saturday I painted this galaxy inspired shirt. I tried to do another one, so I could photograph the process and do a DIY post, but the second one turned out terribly. Maybe next weekend I’ll try again if you guys are interested.

Two of my favorite things! Wolves are probably my favorite animals, just because I think they are really cool, and I’m currently obsessed with velvet. I’ve been wearing this skirt a lot lately, but I don’t really care. If I really like something I might as well just wear it as much a possible.

I like this outfit although it probably wasn’t too practical for the weather. My mom gave me these tights for Chanukah and I love them. You can’t tell in the picture very well, but they have silver glitter in them. Whenever I look down and see them I get so happy! Also I think they go well with the texture of the black crushed velvet.

New Year’s Eve

Last night I went to my friend Camille’s house for New Year’s. There were a few other girls there too, and we had a great time eating fondue, watching Bridesmaids, and just being crazy. Of course we didn’t get much sleep, so I’m very tired now. I got the scarf and dress I’m wearing when I was in New York last week, and the sparkly tights were a Chanukah gift from my mom. The only “old” thing I’m wearing are my shoes, which I got at Ross last summer. Happy New Year!
